As you may be aware, I am a fan of Piedmont blues stylist Ernie Hawkins and earlier in , I posted a review of his most recent recording, Whinin' Boy, while a few days earlier I posted a review of his CD, Bluesified.I recently discovered I never posted my review of his CD Rags & Bones which appeared in the March DC Blues Calendar and the May/June Jazz & Blues Report.

She rescued the Detroit International Jazz Festival by donating $,, and is currently negotiating a $10 million endowment to ensure that the festival lives on. Best fringe-dwelling punk.

Sep 21,  · He's made a few Blues & R&B albums, too. Two with Johnny Bassett, a very nice Detroit bluesman, of which one is still in print on Fedora and is really very nice indeed. Heid plays piano on this. Here's another good Blues album wot Bill dun. And here's his own not quite Blues, not quite R&B, not quite jazz album that I like very much indeed.

This is a pretty cool cd with a little taste of everything and a lot of fun. The band is primarily Michael J Hartman (guitars, bass, keys, drum machine, percussion and vocals) and David L Vacek (Vocals, Harmonica and percussion. First up is Bad Little Girl, a stripped down rocker that I really like. It's got everything that a song needs, cool.
